Tommy Emmanuel is my favorite guitarist. He plays without the foot pedals, etc. Just good old fashioned finger picking guitar.

Will Things Change?
Well, the election has passed, and we now have a lame duck congress. The President is going to meet with key members of both parties, to talk about how to work together to meet the wishes of the American People.
I must admit to feeling somewhat pessimistic about the two parties suddenly beginning to be son concerned about the will of the people, that they start compromising on issues and actually working together in sincerity to heal our nation's economy. *Sigh* If only they would.

Perhaps I am wrong. Perhaps the newly elected members will actually realise that the American public has had enough, and they (especially the Tea Party candidated) will refuse to just meekly vote along party lines, so that they can get the favors needed to help them meet their own agenda. I hope, but fear not. Over my years of being able to vote, I have been inspired and filled with hope many times. But now I am jaded and tired and filled with skepticism. I am no longer a Republican, nor am I a Democrat. I am just a disgruntled citizen. And I harbor a secret fear the we are going to eventually have a revolution in America. Yes, I am talking about anarchy and blood running in the streets. I pray it won't happen, but I fear that it will be so.
Time will tell.

Election Day
Tomorrow, I'm supposed to go and vote. I am so tired of having to vote for the lesser of two evils, that I really don't even want to put forth the effort. Problem is, I was raised to believe that you are not a good citizen if you do not vote.
I used to vote predominately for Republican candidates (though I've never voted a straight ticket), but last time I changed my registration to independent, as a protest of Bush administration policies. I can't see where my life has improved under the current administration, but would it improve it Republicans win back control? I'm sick of tax and spend politicians. I'm sick of the nasty campaign ads, too.
I guess I will get on the net and start looking at voting records again. Anyhow, I will be voting in the morning. It's better than living with the guilt of being a bad citizen.
