This evening, FOX Network will air an interview of Gloria Cain by Greta Van Susteren. Bottom line is, she will stand up for her husband saying, "To hear such graphic allegations and know that that would have been totally disrespectful of her as a woman, and I know that's not the person he is," Gloria Cain says.
My position is that I did a lot of things 12 years ago, that I wouldn't do now, nor might I remember them now. I think if these women were so upset, they should have spoken up then. Not now. I'm just saying ....

Insider Trading in Congress
I was shocked and appalled while watching 60 minutes tonight, when they covered the members of Congress ability to legally take advantage of their inside information, to trade stocks before the general public gets the same knowledge. Seems that many of our "representatives" make a fortune in the stock market.

Music Theory?
Although I sung professionally, and play piano and guitar, I know nothing about music theory. Heck I can't even read music!
Now my granddaughter, a freshman in college is struggling with music theory class, and I hate it that I can't help her. Are there any good books that simplify this, or make it understandable?

For your own sake, Move!
As a stroke victim, I found this article to be of interest. All about how exercising and controlling alcohol consumption can help prevent stroke.
Regular exercise can also help you control your blood sugar, build strong bone to help prevent osteoporosis, help prevent some forms of cancer, promote weight loss, and on and on. Good intentions do not help you. You must have a regular regimen, and stick to it continually. The good news is, as little as 20 minutes of something as simple as a brisk walk, 20 minutes a day 3 times a week, can have dramatic results.
Skeptical? Go to google search box and type in the "exercise to prevent to" and sit back and read a few of the many article. You will be convinced!

Paterno - Followup
So when I got home from work tonight, I saw on tv that Joe Paterno announced that he was going to resign after the season. The newscaster also said that the university might no even let him finish the season. I am very sad to hear this. I'm especially annoyed with the coverage by CNN's Headline News Network. They are beating a dead horse, and the horse is the coverage of Joe Paterno, and failure to handle the Sandusky sex scandal.
Joe made a mistake. He went to the university rather than notify the police. He should have had the police investigate (as should have the person who told the coach about the incident), but he didn't. Bad judgement, I agree, But the coach is an old man coming to the end of a brilliant career. Why not let him go out with dignity rather than use him as a scapegoat? He went to his superiors and did what he thought was the right thing to do.
My feeling is the university president is just as guilty of bad judgement as the others. If Joe Paterno is to be blamed and bullied into quitting, then his superior should be treated the same. It's sad that this happened, but it's doubly sad that the media is besmirching the reputation of a man with a sterling career. The incident happened, it's been reported, move on!
I am sick and tired of CNN and the like jumping onto one news item, and making it the top story, day after day after day. There are plenty of other crimes and items of interest happening daily, yet they jump onto a trial of someone famous and cover it for hours at a time, and for days and weeks. How about doing what you used to do CNN? In the early days, you knew that the news on Ted Turner's station was going to be fresh and updated all day long. Now, there's no use to even watch HLN on Saturday or Sunday, 'cause it's just going to be a rehash of the previous week.
When I watch a news network, I want to see news! Not clips from tv comics making fun of politicians, and people critiquing movies. I want to see something that is going to let me know what is going on today. Right now! In other words, I want the old network back.
This wasn't very well written, but it's the way I feel ..... Just saying!

Concerning Joe Paterno: Many are calling for his resignation, because of the scandalous behavior former assistant coach, Jerry Sandusky. In my opinion, this is a harsh over reaction. Seems to me that the media are always looking for someone to crucify, in order to get ratings. I'm tired of it. I am not a sports fan, especially football. But I think it is unfair to make Paterno pay for Sandusky's sins. Now if it turns out that Paterno knew of the instances of abuse, that would be different. But until that happens, leave the man alone!
In other news, asteroid YU55 made its pass of the Earth today, at a distance of 202,000 miles at 6:28 p.m. EST. That's just inside the moon's orbit; the average distance between Earth and the moon is 239,000 miles. Whew, that was close! Actually, I suppose it is close, but nothing bad happened. I guess the next predicted "near miss" is in 2028.
Trying to get back into my old walking routine, by my body is saying no. I will persist, you can rely on that!
Last but not least, Herman Cain says he has no memory of the latest woman coming forth to accuse him of sexual harassment. I want to be clear that I am 100 percent against sexual harassment. But, I would be more concerned about it if it happened last week. I did and said a lot of things 12 years ago, that I would not consider doing today. If Jesus was here, would he stoop down, draw in the dirt and say "Let him who is without sin, cast the first stone." I'm just saying ...
When I clicked on preview, I noticed a good deal of it is highlighted. I have no idea why, but I'm posting it any way. :-)
Have a good day (or night).

Trying Again
I've tried to blog before, but it seems like most days I just don't have much of anything to say. Still, I hate for it just to remain unused.
Therefore, I am going to try to make remarks about news items, things that have happened to me, religious observations etc.
Today was a day off from work it was an uneventful day other than waiting for and watching the verdict be given in the Conrad Murray be given. The prosecutor had done an excellent job of presenting the case, so I wasn't surprised at all when he was pronounced guilty. I don't think he purposely killed Michael Jackson, but I do think he was careless and negligent. I understand the most he can get is four years, and I'm sure there are many who won't think his sentence is harsh enough. Personally, I'm just glad the trial is over. Maybe the media will actually report on the news! To me, the whole thing should have been a civil case, and not a criminal trial. In my opinion, if the victim had been anyone who was not famous, we'd have never heard anything about it.
Knee is better, and I am going to try to start walking again. I've gained weight, and feel rotten! Wish me luck.
